crowdfund

It’s time for another selection of crowdfunding campaigns that have caught my interest in the last week. This time around we have five projects that range from paper planners to wearable cameras. Click through to read about this weeks notable crowdfunding campaign picks.

Slice Planner

What is it?
Slice Planner is an analog planner / journal that works with your iOS device (hopefully Android too) to allow you to easily update your digital calendar.

Why do I like it?
I love analog journals but have always wished that I could use digital tools with them too. The A5 sized Slice Planner comes really close to fulfilling my wish because I can write in the journal and then use a special app to take pictures of the pages that automatically set up calendar events in Google, Outlook or Apple calendars. You can also draw a line around certain areas of the page to send just that info via email to yourself or others. Watch the video above to see how it works.

With 33 days left in the campaign, The Slice Planner campaign is well on its way, but it still has some work to do before reaching their funding goal of $35,000. You can pre-order a Slice Planner starting at $24. After the Slice Planner campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in December 2016. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Naked Cases for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

What is it?
Naked Cases aren’t really cases at all, but a thin protective film that goes on your iPhone to protect it against scratches and dings.

Why do I like it?
Naked Cases are made of the same protective film that is used on Ferraris, Lamboginis, & Teslas. Check out Dave Rees’s Naked Cases review for more info.

With 8 days left in the campaign, The Naked Cases campaign is not quite halfway to their goal, which means they still have some work to do before reaching their funding goal of $8,436. You can pre-order a Naked Case starting at $23 for the iPhone 7 and $26 for the iPhone 7 Plus. After the Naked Cases campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in October 2016. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Ratchet Legs

What is it?
Ratchet Legs are a set of 4 legs made of steel that can be used to create a table from any flat material between 0.4inch – 1.8inch (10mm – 45mm) in thickness.

Why do I like it?
I like Rachet Legs because they enable anyone to easily make a table or bench without needing tools. It invites creativity and recycling and gives you a piece of useful furniture that you can change up anytime you like just by adding another flat surface.

With 32 days left in the campaign, The Ratchet Legs campaign has almost reached their funding goal of $14,679. You can pre-order a Ratchet Legs starting at $99 for a set of short legs and $124 for a set of taller legs. After the Ratchet Legs campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in February 2017. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Flip! The World’s Most Intuitive Smart Stylus

What is it?
Flip is a stylus by Lynktec, an established stylus company whose products we’ve reviewed in the past. The Flip is a stylus that doesn’t require batteries or Bluetooth but offers some interesting features not found on non-active styluses.

Why do I like it?
I like the Flip stylus because you don’t have to worry about charging or pairing it. It works like a pencil with an eraser. Make a mistake? Just flip it over and use the other end to “erase” your mistake. It also offers palm rejection so that using it feels more natural. And, it even has interchangeable tips for writing, drawing and precision.

Where can I find more info?
With 21 days left in the campaign, The Flip campaign has blew past their funding goal of $7500 by almost $70,000. You can pre-order a Flip stylus starting at $40. After the Flip campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in February 2017. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Blincam

What is it?
Blincam is a wearable camera that takes pictures just by blinking.

Why do I like it?
I like Blincam because it allows you to snap pictures handsfree. It fits on any pair of glasses or sunglasses and a picture is captured when you blink your eye. This 2-3MP fixed focus camera won’t replace your DSLR or the camera in your smartphone, but it’s a cool way to capture images when you don’t want to manual snap pictures but still want to record memories.

Where can I find more info?
With 18 days left in the campaign, The Blincam campaign has is only a few dollars away from reaching their funding goal of $30,000. You can pre-order a Blincam starting at $159. After the Blincam campaign ends, rewards are estimated to start shipping in April 2017. Visit their Indiegogo page for all the details.
