It’s Friday and you’re probably worn out from working (or playing hard) all week. Here is some quick news to help you unwind and even some deals that can save you a few bucks!

Deals

Save $80 on Jaybird X2 earbuds at Best Buy – Dave Rees reviewed these sport earbuds last year and liked them quite a bit. The sale price is $69.99 which is a good buy. No idea when this special pricing ends, so don’t wait too long if you’re interested.

Amazon has a sale going on right now that will let you save $50 on select Chromebooks. If you don’t want or need a full fledged laptop and some of the headaches that go along with them, Chromebooks are a light weight solution. The discount ends on 8/27.

And if you prefer a “real” laptop, Amazon is also running some discounts on select HP laptops.

Verizon’s end-of-summer sale  started today and runs through Sunday. They are offering $200 off the retail price of a 64GB or 128GB iPhone 6 Plus and $150 off the 16GB iPhone 6 Plus when purchased on device payment. They will also waive your activation or upgrade fees. They are running other deals too, so take a look at the news here.

Speaking of fitness trackers, there’s a new iOS app called achu that uses Fitbit data and data from a previous illness to predict when you might be getting a cold. Sounds iffy to me… achu costs $1.39 and you can check it out through the iTunes app store.

If you like pocket notebooks, you’re already familiar with Word notebooks. I’ve enjoyed reviewing some of the styles they offer. They just announced two new styles. The Rider Journal and The Surfer Journal. They are styled after vintage motorcycle manuals and classic surfer wave logs. Each $12 pack contains 3 notebooks that have 48 pages. Visit Wordnotebooks.com for more info.

Yesterday was the Bullet Journal system’s 3rd birthday. If you don’t know what Bullet Journaling is, it’s a great way to keep a paper journal that helps you get more done. I’ve been using my own simplified version of it for almost a year and it really works.
