Polar is renowned for their heart rate monitoring equipment and they have recently announced their newest model, the M600. Notwithstanding the Piper M600 aircraft, the Noble M600 supercar, or the DJI M600 drone, it’s still one of the coolest M600’s out there. The idea is that this watch is the perfect combination of a smartwatch for normal daily use, an activity tracker, and a precision training tool. To that end, Polar has integrated Android wear, which permits call handling, email and text responses, smartphone notifications, customization of watch faces, voice control, and many more things that Android wear enabled apps provide. To improve the training tool aspects of the watch they have enhanced their existing HRM tech by adding 6 LED’s around the optical sensor and refining the algorithms that interpret the signal. The watch also includes a new state of the art GPS/GLONASS chip and includes storage space to stream Bluetooth music to your earphones. Lastly, they have wrapped a color screen with Gorilla Glass and protected the whole thing to IPX8 standards suitable for swimming. The model should be available September 2016 and can pre-ordered now for $329.95 at Polar.com
