Here is my weekly list of 3-5 crowdfunding campaigns that have caught my eye in the last week for being unique, affordable and worth checking out. Click through to see this week’s notable Kickstarter projects.

Pocket Tripod

What is it?
The Pocket Tripod  from Geometrical Inc. & Rambod Radmard is a credit card sized tripod for your smartphone.

Why do I like it?
It’s small, lightweight, folds up to fit in your wallet’s credit card slot and is adjustable to position the phone at various angles. It can be used with almost any smartphone even if it’s in a case. Buy a new phone? No problem. The holders pop out so you can snap in new ones that fit your new phone.

The Pocket Tripod campaign has already surpassed the funding goal of $6,000 by over 12 times with 28 days left in the campaign. You can pre-order a Pocket Tripod for $18 with shipping estimated for October 2016. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Solidus

What is it?
Solidus is a small WiFi enabled device that connects to a temperature sensor called a thermistor and alerts you when the configured temperature is out of range.

Why do I like it?
It is a handy sensor that can be used to keep an eye on different appliances or areas of your home when you’re not there. Solidus will send an alert to your phone or email when the temperature has gone out of range or it has failed to log a temperature reading two times in a row.

Where can I find more info?
The Solidus campaign has a funding goal of $25,000 with 25 days left in the campaign. You can pre-order a Solidus for $50 with shipping estimated for November 2016. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.

Code&Quill Monolith Notebook

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2036800549/codeandquill-the-monolith-notebook

What is it?
The Code&Quill Monolith Notebook is a large-format (10 x 7.25 inches) notebook with 216 100GSM fine-grain, acid-free pages.

Why do I like it?
I’m familiar with Code&Quill notebooks because I reviewed them last summer. I like them because they are hard bound, lay flat when open, and have a cool dual-page layout. The left-side pages have a dot grid for sketches and drawings, while the right-side pages have narrow-ruled lines with vertical hash marks every 5mm. The Monolith notebooks are big and bigger is better.

Where can I find more info?
The Code&Quill campaign has a funding goal of $20,500 with 16 days left in the campaign. You can pre-order a Monolith notebook for $25 with shipping estimated for September 2016. Visit their Kickstarter page for all the details.
