I have been a fan of Withings fitness products for a very long time and have been using their Wifi Body Scale every day for the past six years. Their Activité activity-tracking wrist watches are some of the nicest looking fitness trackers on the market right now. But for those of us who are a little more budget challenged, Withings is now offering the Go fitness tracker. Designed to look sporty, the Go automatically tracks steps, running, swimming, as well as your sleep patterns. It features an always-on E-ink display that you can see indoor or out, and has up to 8 months of battery life on a CR2025 button cell battery. The Withings Go uses Bluetooth Low Energy to pair with your iOS or Android device and keeps a log of your activities in the Withings Health Mate app. Clip it to your pocket or wear it on your wrist, the Withings Go is available in five colors and is priced at $79.95. Visit Withings for more info and stay tuned right here on The Gadgeteer for my full review coming soon.

  2. We (meaning my wife, but as a gift from me) finally gave up on the Withings Pulse/Pulse O2 after three attempts. The first one went through the wash, our own fault while learning the dangers of a clip-on tracker. But the next one just stopped working after a few months, and the warranty replacement did the same. I think we’ll both wait for one that has the following features: 1) waterproof, 2) good reports on reliability, 3) long battery life (minimum a week, should be weeks or months), 4) compatible with multiple other general fitness apps like MyFitnessPal and our HMO health tracking app (so probably one of the major manufacturers), and, for her at least, 5) “not dorky-looking.”

I’ll be interested to see your review on this one, as it looks like it may hit at least 3 of the criteria. I’m now suspicious of Withings’ reliability, however, and am not sure whether this will pass the looks judgment.
