For today only you can save $5 off Amazon’s Fire TV Stick. The Fire TV Stick is a small module that plugs directly into a HDMI port on your TV to let you “cut the cord” with expensive cable and satellite providers by giving you access to over 4,000 channels of entertaining content. Some of the channels that you’ll be able to watch include Amazon Video, Netflix, HBO GO, Hulu, NBC News, NBA, Sling TV, which includes ESPN, CNN, HGTV, AMC, A&E, Cartoon Network, and more. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you will get unlimited access to Prime Video and Prime Music. Chromecast owners might want to check out the Fire TV Stick because it offers 4x the storage, 2x the memory and has a dual-core processor with 1 GB of memory. I recently bought a Chromecast and am thinking about buying the Fire TV Stick so I can do a comparison review. Remember, this $5 off deal is only good through today (4/28/16), so act fast so you can buy the Fire TV Stick for only $34.99. Visit Amazon for more info.

    I just ordered one 🙂

I’ve had a Fire TV Stick since they first came out. I find it works well enough, but using the standard remote is very annoying since you have to use the toggle button to pick out letters from a screen grid to do title etc. searches. The version that comes with a Voice Remote is also on sale for only $10 more – I’m considering picking that up since the voice remote alone costs $25.

I considered buying the one with the voice remote but then saw that you can use an app on your phone. Have you tried that?

I just saw that too – I don’t watch TV very often, so the last time I looked at the app on my phone (18 months ago?) it didn’t have that feature. But I see it now wants to access my microphone, so I’ll have to give it a try when I’m home.
