Jackfish Survival credit card holder

I love multi-tasking gadgets and devices, but I really love multi-tasking devices that include survival/EDC elements. The Jackfish Survival credit card holder, a current Kickstarter project is an interesting concept with both a survival and EDC component. Made of either aluminum or Titanium, the Jackfish is 8.5 mm (.334 inches) thick and uses a spring loaded mechanism to allow it to hold up to four credit cards. Beneath the credit cards, the Jackfish has cutouts to hold 11 included tools:

EDC tools

  • Micro screwdriver, flat head
  • Titanium coated Pozi/Phillips head hex bit
  • Titanium coated flat head hex bit
  • Kingston micro SD card reader (SD card not included)
  • True Utility telescopic pen

Survival tools

  • Aluminum whistle
  • Glass vial (holds up to 10 drops of iodine or another liquid)
  • Windproof match
  • Firesteel
  • Spyderco Bug knife
  • Liquid filled button compass

There are many pledge points for this project, with a pledge of £69 (approximately $104) getting you an aluminum Jackfish with the 11 tools listed above. This project is seeking funding until January 4th, 2016 and if successful will ship in the April 2016 time frame.

  2. I used to love buying these things until my wife asked me how many times I had actually used them. I realised I never had, ever. I don’t buy them anymore!
