Audioengine HD6-1

Audioengine has created some outstanding and affordable speakers along with other audio components over the last 10 years. Their A5+ is a killer speaker that sounds terrific and packs a powerful punch. It was their top-of-the-line speaker—until now. Just in time for the holidays, Audioengine has released the HD6 speaker—a new concept in both sound and appearance. Audioengine designed the HD6 to be modern, but pay homage to the classic speaker designs of the past with its clean lines and retro wooden finishes. While looking back for inspiration, Audioengine also looks forward by adding many features not available with the A5+.

Audioengine HD6-2

“As we celebrate our tenth year,” says Brady Bargenquast, co-founder of Audioengine, “HD6 represents a decade’s worth of work. We’ve added some stellar features from our best-selling products, carefully blended in our signature sound, and took a risk with the retro cabinet design—all of which we’re hoping will make HD6 the go-to music system for many years to come.”

The HD6 features a 24-bit upsampling digital audio convertor (DAC) that should make every music file played sound as good as possible. With added aptX Bluetooth, A/B monoblock power amplifiers and a remote, the HD6 becomes its own complete audio system.

The HD6 features hand-built cabinets available in walnut or cherry wood veneers (or satin black) with detachable magnetic grills giving the HD6 a look and feel of old-school design. All-new woofers have aluminum frames creating beefier bass. Also new are the tweeters, which have been upgraded for smoother highs and better imaging.

The Audioengine HD6 sells for $749 US and is available now. Visit Audioengine for information.
