I’ve worn glasses since I was in third grade. I don’t know what the definition of legally blind is, but without my glasses, I have a feeling I’d fall into that group. If I’m awake, I’m wearing my glasses. Now that I’m older and wiser, I have progressive lenses that allow me to read and see things close up. Every year I go to my optometrist for an exam to see if I need to change my prescription. When I was younger, my eyes changed quite a bit and my strong prescription translated into expensive lenses. Luckily my eyes are pretty stable now, but I used to wish for a pair of glasses that could be adjusted like a camera or pair of binoculars. Adlens glasses have that ability! The glasses feature a dial on each temple that instantly adjusts each lens for near, intermediate and distance vision. Each lens has two wave-shaped plates which slide across one another as you turn the dials to change the power of the lens from -6 to +3 diopter. The Adlens glasses are available in a variety of frame colors and are priced very reasonably at $29.99. The only caveat is that they won’t work if you have an astigmatism. Adlens also offer sunglasses and glasses for digital eye strain. For more info visit adlens.com

  2. I don’t even technically need glasses but I almost want a pair of these. Being able to see things really far away and enhancing my near vision could come in handy! But I’m not sure it’d be worth the hassle of having to wear glasses when I don’t really need them.

  3. Hy. Great Review and you are really very concerned about the health of the eye, I have one question, whether the above price applies to lens photocromic?

I have been using these for about 3 months. They are definitely better than nothing, but lacking for long term use.

My 70 year old eyes were getting worse and worse. About 5 years ago I purchased a pair of Superfocus glasses. They helped alleviate my accommodation problem. The Superfocus glasses were not durable and the company went bankrupt, so they can’t be repaired.

I then tried Adlens adjustables. Much cheaper, but lacking in quality The field of view is very narrow at high correction settings. Not good for driving.

The slide lens system is not sealed and collects dirt and moisture. There is no way to clean the inner surfaces.

There are three lens surfaces. Each creates glare. Very bad at night or bright sunlight.

I recently had cataract surgery. These glasses are a good solution for the time between right and left eye surgery and for the recovery period.
They provide separate eye correction for the difference between the operated and non- operated eyes.
You can adjust for the rapidly changing eye characteristics in the first 3 days after surgery.

    They are economical.

These are good for short term casual use. They are not good for driving.

Adlens sells their Focus prescription line for full time use. At $1250 they are way too pricey, and are not good looking.
Lets hope they get productized to get the price down and improve the appearance.
I would give the Adlens Adjustables four stars. They are a useful product.
