I’m a big fan of Casio’s G-Shock watches; I’ve worn them for years and can vouch that they are some of the toughest watches in the world and packed with useful features. The latest G-Shock GB400 models include some new features that caught my eye. Bluetooth Smart enables linking between the watch and a phone for remote control of the phone’s music player, simpler configuration of watch settings, and much more. Plus, using the new G’MIX music app in combination with a smartphone provides a new level of personalization to music playback and even includes Soundhound integration. G-Shock’s GBA400 models are available in several colors, like the GBA400-1A9, pictured here, each for $200. Don’t waste a second; link over to www.gshock.com for more info.

  2. I bought this since im a watch and gshock junkie…. however the bluetooth aspect of it is quite limited and is used to only control their gshock music player app. It definitely is a really cool looking watch, but if I wanted bluetooth text notification, etc… I would have needed to buy the GB-X6900 model- But that model can only show notification, and NOT control the music player.
Not sure what is holding Casio back from developing a true smart-watch…. they’re current offerings are extremely limiting/frustrating!!!

    1. Thanks for that feedback, anson. I investigated the GBX6900B model series on G-Shock’s site and it appears that they have the following functionality:
      – Music Controller
      – Incoming Notifications
      – Phone Finder Function

So perhaps their “B” series has added some functions. IMHO it’s not as attractive a design as the GBA400 series, however.
