If you don’t like to leave home without your digital data, you should check out the Corsair Flash Survivor Stealth USB 3.0 flash drive.  The casing is made of anodized, aircraft-grade aluminum, and it’s waterproof to 200 meters, and it’s both vibration- and shock-resistant.  Because it’s USB 3.0, it offers read-speeds up to 4 times faster than USB 2.0, so you can even watch some video directly from the flash drive.  It’s backwards compatible with USB 2.0, and it works with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux without drivers.

Amazon offers the Corsair Flash Survivor Stealth USB 3.0 flash drive in the following capacities:  16GB ($24.99), 32GB ($41.00), 64GB ($42.99), 128GB ($93.99), and 256GB ($144.99).  Hey, it would be foolish to not upgrade from 32GB to 64GB for the extra two bucks, wouldn’t it?  Check them out at Amazon.

  2. I have one of the older generation versions of this, and my only complaint is the write speeds aren’t very fast. (the new ones aren’t much faster then the one I have) They really need to get a modern flash controller. My SanDisk is about 3x faster.

  3. Why not just pop a USB stick inside a waterproof canister? It is not like there are any moving parts in a USB stick.

  4. Why not just make the USB stick water proof and a bit stronger. The whole thing has no moving part, and ABS is plenty strong and waterproof. Have a hole for a lanyard and call it antitheft. Now you have a water proof, light weight, boot resistant, anti theft personal mass storage device.
