I used several iMacs over the years until I decided to downsize to a MacBook. I still love the iMac for its style and gorgeous display, but I’ve always questioned Apple’s choice to locate the USB ports on the back side of the computer. I understand that they want to preserve the clean lines and look of the iMac, but I always found it annoying to deal with plugging and unplugging my USB accessories. The latest solution to this problem comes from Satechi. Their new Aluminum Clamp Hub features an easy to use mounting mechanism that is compatible with the iMac (2012 or newer) and even PCs that are less than one inch thick. The hub increases your connectivity by adding 4 USB 3.0 ports. The Satechi Aluminum Clamp Hub is available now for $27.99 at Satechi.net and Amazon.com.

  2. What a great idea! I think I may buy one of these. I have a 7-port Hub that’s full, so I always need extra ports and this seems really handy.
