I’m always on the lookout for a great portable speaker to extend music from my mobile device or laptop. There are tons of options out there, but many of them look cheap and don’t sound so great. My post today will cover the Rapoo A600, a portable Bluetooth and NFC enabled speaker. Let’s take a look!
Upon opening the box, I immediately liked the acrylic packaging and design. The contents include the following:

- Quick Start Guide
- 3.5 mm audio cable
- Micro USB cable
- carry pouch
The speaker’s build quality is extremely nice – it’s a solid aluminum block with 3 big elevator-style buttons on the top to control volume and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. The speaker comes in a range of colors that pop – I loved this bright orange that adds fun color to the room.
It’s hard to see with the silver lettering, but on the back is the on/off switch, micro USB port for charging, and auxiliary input.
I used my Nexus 5 to connect to the speaker by holding it right up to the NFC logo, which connected quickly in a few seconds. Rapoo provides an Android and iOS app to help you connect the speaker via Bluetooth. The app also is a useful audio client if you had music stored locally on your mobile device. I use Spotify and Google Music so didn’t really take advantage of that part of the app.
I also tested the speaker on my iMac desktop. Connection was super easy in OS X.
As far as speaker quality is concerned, I was really impressed with how much this little box packed a punch! I usually listen to dance or upbeat music, so it had good highs and mids. The bass was slightly lacking, but not too surprising since this is a compact speaker. I just used my app’s equalizer to boost the bass up a bit, and was good to go. The sounds were popping as much as the color of the speaker!
Battery life on the Rapoo A600 was about 8 – 9 hours without a charge. I left it on standby for a few days, and was able to come back to it to keep listening without charging it up again. To charge it up completely took about 2.5 hours.
The Rapoo A600 is a small and stylish NFC enabled and Bluetooth speaker with awesome sound and great build quality. I plan to take this little guy with me everywhere I go, especially to work or the beach. It’s small enough to fit in your hand and carry around it any backpack or handbag, and you can connect it to any device wired or wirelessly. I highly recommend it for this holiday season as a gift!

I’m still loving this little radio. I use it at work nowadays, but can’t wait for the warmer weather so I can take it with me to outdoor parties and get togethers.

I would hope that this product is built better than the two Rapoo keyboards I threw in the garbage. One, a BT mini keyboard for the IPAD never worked; the other, a Wifi full size KB for the PC , quit working after two months. Both models had keys missing. I would be difficult to purchase a Rapoo product after my experience with the brand
Very good review! Just a question, are you defiantly sure that the micro USB port can be used as auxiliary input (to enable sound play via the USB cable from computer basically)? Most other reviews only mention that this is used for charging the devise.

I never mentioned that the micro USB port can be used an an auxiliary input – they are two separate inputs. Hope this helps!
You did mention it, maybe it was a mistake:
