Today is Black Friday, the official beginning of the holiday shopping season.  Coming up with gift ideas for everyone can be difficult, but here are a couple of ideas for the coffee and tea lovers.

The Aerobie AeroPress Coffee and Espresso Maker has everything that the coffee lover needs to make a perfect cup of coffee anywhere.  So long as you have hot water and coffee grounds, you can have a cup of hot coffee.  You just measure in your grounds and add hot water to the AeroPress; after a short brewing time, you slowly depress the plunger to dispense the coffee into your cup – a bit like a single-cup French press.  Aerobie says that the “immersion of the grounds in the water results in rapid yet robust extraction of flavor.  Because of the lower temperature and short brew time, the acid level of the brew is much lower than conventional brewers.”  Amazon has an AeroPress kit with with a travel pouch for $26.62.

The Adagio ingenuiTEA Teapot is a similar concept for tea drinkers.  It’s for folks who prefer to brew with tea leaves instead of tea bags.  You just add tea leaves and hot water to the ingenuiTEA and let it steep.  When it’s brewed to your preferred strength, simply set the little pot on top of your tea cup, and the tea will drain into your cup.  Julie reviewed the ingenuiTEA about 5 years ago, but they are still available.  Amazon has the Adagio Teas 16 oz. ingenuiTEA Bottom-Dispensing Teapot for $18.21.

If you want the latest in coffee-brewing technology, the Keurig 2.0 machines have what you want.  This Keurig can still brew a single cup, but it also has the ability to brew a carafe of coffee when you are serving a group.  The optional stainless carafe will keep coffee hot long enough that you can savor the first cup and still enjoy the second cup.  Read the full review of the Keurig 2.0 K550 brewing system, then head out to the local stores, where you’re sure to find one for your coffee lover.  Just be sure you stock up on the new Keurig K-Cups with the required branding.

I’ve actually tried out all three of these items, and they all perform their jobs well and produce a tasty, hot beverage.
