For my work I carry a bunch of stuff with me including a laptop, iPad, two mobile phones, a notebook, and various thumb drives, a portable drive, and tools.  I always keep an eye out for gear bags that look sturdy, can handle all my gear, any kind of weather and that I can throw around.  Let’s see how the Caselogic Reflexion Mobile Messenger bag handles the task!

My first impression of this messenger bag was how nice the material felt and how roomy it was.  I proceeded to add all of my work stuff inside.CaseLogic-Reflexion-02

At first glance, I really liked how I was able to adjust the strap on both sides of the top. Being on the shorter side (5’4″), messenger bags tend to have the adjustment strap and the padding not align correctly.

On the shoulder pad, there is a non-slip surface that didn’t move when I was wearing the bag. Very useful as straps tend to slip behind my back and dig into my shoulder!

I like the diagonal front zipper pocket. I used this to carry my wallet and keys.

I really like the material the bag is made out of. It’s constructed of smooth polyester with a cool design and repelled water on light rainy days.

The front snaps are nice and easy to use, plus never “unsnapped” when I was dragging this bag in and out of my car and the train.

The interior of the bag has three areas, a main space for various items, a laptop compartment that can fit a 14-15″ notebook (I’d even say a 17″ notebook), and a back spot for an iPad or 10.1″ tablet.

I kept my 14″ Lenovo notebook and iPad 4 inside, along with headphones, mouse, usb charger, and thumb drives.

In the front there’s a zippered compartment, as well as two smaller compartments for anything as big as a portable hard drive, keys, pens, or a smartphone.  (I can see a “phablet” fitting perfectly here too.)

Each side has a mesh compartment that’s perfect for a water bottle or two.

I kept my two mobile phones in the other side pocket for easy reach.

The back of the bag is nice since it comes with a grab handle as well as a huge pocket with snap.  My favorite feature of this bag is a zipper that lets you reach into the inside tablet divider, so that you can remove your tablet quickly without unsnapping the top of the bag.

The back strap is useful for looping the bag onto a rolling suitcase handle.  I used it to carry a cardigan sweater since the weather has been flopping between cool and warm!

Overall I really liked the Caselogic Reflexion Mobile Messenger bag.  The build quality is awesome and the material feels good to the touch.  It has a contemporary design that is flattering for guys or gals.  The construction is great and held up to my constant throwing around during my travels.
