I’ve had a life-long love of mid-century architecture and design.  We finally are living in a mid-century building, but it’s a condo building, so I’m not free to decorate the outside of my home.  In case you are lucky enough to have a fabulous atomic-age home with your own outdoor area, here’s the perfect fire pit for your backyard.  The Modfire Astrofire Outdoor Fire Pit is made from “14 gauge steel, and hand-rolled into a wide conical shape and attached to a ¼”plate steel base with sleek tapered legs.”  It stands 17″ tall, and it has a 34″ overall diameter and a 22″ diameter firebox.  They are available in wood burning, propane, or natural gas models, and all models come with clear fire glass for the outer ring, as shown in the image.  (The gas-burning models have a 125,000 BTU stainless star burner.)  The Modfire Astrofire is available in Tangerine, Maraschino, Azure Avocado, Ultra-Lounge White, Charcoal, Aqualuxe for $1450 from Boxhill.
