If, despite your best efforts, you have an unsightly cable hanging out in plain view, why don’t you use these cute clips to make that cable a design element?  The Wire Blooms Cable Tidy Clips are little plastic cable clips that hammer into your walls with small nails and hold your cable to keep it from dangling.  Instead of just simple plastic guides like I’ve seen before, these are a red bird and some green leaves.  Your loose cable now becomes a vine with a bird.  The Wire Blooms Cable Tidy Clips have twelve leaves and one bird; they also have adapters for thinner wires.  They are available at Amazon from a few different vendors; prices range from about $8.00 + $5.00 shipping to $11.99 with free shipping, depending on the vendor.  Note that all vendors seem to be in Israel, so shipping may take longer than usual from Amazon.

  2. As soon as I saw the photo, I knew that this depicted a Middle East idea. Israelis have their electrical outlets mid wall since it is the custom to wash the stone floors with soapy water using a rag on a stick.
The outlets have to be up high to protect them from that sloshing water. When I moved to New York, it was hard for me to bend over all the way to the floor to plug and unplug.
