This Kickstarter project is seeking funding for an iPhone case so minimal that it almost doesn’t exist.  Instead of a case that engulfs the sides and back of the iPhone or even a bumper case that covers the sides, and sometimes impacts cellular reception, the Bumprz case simply covers the corners.  The designers contend that your screen breaks because it gets chips on the corner edges when it drops.  Bumprz are made of “strong metals and attached with amazing 3M adhesives. This combination prevents the seam of the screen from hitting corners.”  (The Kickstarter page has a video showing a Bumprz-equipped iPhone being dropped without any apparent damage.) The corner protectors are actually made of  “Stainless Steel 303 and 360 Brass at 0.7mm thick.  Metal can absorb and displace the impact better than a plastic of the same thickness.”  A pledge of $20 gets you one set of Bumprz corners in silver or gold with a polished or matte finish.  Funding continues through Wed, Mar 5, 2014 at 1:47 PM EST; shipping is expected in April 2014 if funding goals are met.
