Elizabeth………. Have I ever told you how much I I LOOOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE you? and your give-aways? LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE.

😀 – This is one item I really am interested in. I love the pebble but it was always so “fisher-price” looking to me. sigh… my wallet, my poor wallet.

  3. @bobeast I know, I’m totally underwhelmed with the return love here. Put myself out on a limb and I’m shot down. 😀

  4. Well since I wasn’t able to convince Julie or Elizabeth to send me a pebble steel for free, I was forced to get my own (Galaxy black Steel). All I have to say is I’m very happy with it. I still think the pebble is the most “practical” of the “smart watches”

Yes I know they have watches out there that do 4 billion things. I do not want a watch that does 4 billion things. I want a watch that tells me the time (WHOA), and gives me notices. I do not need to play doom, or angry birds on my watch. I do not need a 2 billion color LED screen (which I can’t see in the sun), and I do not need a watch camera, etc etc.

So far I’m on day 4 of my single charge. The battery meter is about 1/3 full. We will see how long I can go.

I get a beep, I can look at my watch and see my email, sms, phonecall, or server notices. I no longer have to un-holster my phone 3.6613 trillion times a day for every beep and boop it makes. Just simply look at my wrist.

I will note that one of the first things I did was replace the stock firmware with a patched firmware. I did not like having several “faces”. I found a face I like which shows the time, date, and weather on a single well laid out format. But I kept accidentally changing to other designer faces. This is evidently a common complaint because finding the patches to remove that took me all of a pico second on google. All in all I find it a very nice watch. Very readable in the dark or in daylight. I really think e-paper was the right direction to go for this type of device.

Two Thumbs up. oh and @Julie It’s new years again, may I resume drinking?
