If you’ve been looking for a way to organize your keychain, the KeyGrip from Raven Workshop looks like an interesting option. The New Hampshire based machine shop offers two versions of the KeyGrip. The less expensive KG2 is made with a leather strap, and the one you see above which is available in brass, copper, stainless steel and titanium. Priced between $60 – $95 depending on the material, the U shaped KeyGrip holds up to 6 keys arranged like the blades of a pocket knife. This design keeps your keys together and rattle free, for a compact and convenient EDC (everyday carry).

  2. The design is intriguing. I just ordered the titanium (lighter than the other metals) and leather and will see how they work out. (One for work keys, one for home).

  3. Got a link on where to buy that hex thingy in the US? quick search found me several across see’s and a few with a min qty of 3000.

  4. I have no need for one, as I have been able to simplify things so that I only have to carry a car key/remote combo plus a tiny swiss army pocket tool.

But it’s a good idea for people with the need to carry several keys. If you can’t afford one and have the time, you could make one yourself. This is how I would do it.

Go to a hardware store and get a soft piece of metal: copper, brass, aluminum will do. Bend it to the U shape you want. Drill a counter sink hole on one end, and drill/tap a hole on the other end for the screw thread. If you don’t have a tap tool, get a self tapping screw and make a thread with it. Then put everything together with the final screw. You may want to get the screw first so that you can plan the width of the U shape holder accordingly without having to cut the screw. It may be a fun project.

About the washer, if you use brass ones they are self lubricating so the operation will be smoother. You could also put a pressure washer in the middle to keep everything tight. There are a lot of things you can do to improve the design.
