The Folding Firebox Nano is a 3″ stainless steel camp stove that when folded, will fit in your pocket. It weighs in at less than 6 ounces (170 grams) and is about .25 inches thick when collapsed. It doesn’t requires any assembly or tools to set it up. Just unfold, add sticks, twigs or a small alcohol burner and you’re ready to cook. It features an adjustable cooking base that can accommodate small cups or larger pans, and an easy to use cross-feed system to keep the fire fueled and burning. The Folding Firebox Nano is made in the US and is priced at $39.99. A larger 5 inch model is also available for $59.99.

This reminds me a lot of the small metal stoves that I’ve used with hexamine tablets…great idea, especially with the ports on the side to allow you to feed in more fuel from below instead of having to remove whatever you’re cooking. Just be sure to wipe off the soot with some leaves before you pack it, and you’re good to go…

  4. I have something very similar, I think it’s Russian (Russian looking instructions at least) surplus. Works great for a cup of hot beverage, soup or can of beans. Used it regularly when snow hiking. Would pack it with snow fold it in half pushing the snow out, doing this 2-3 times would get out all the soot. It’s probably 30 years old.
