This device from Hammacher Schlemmer lets you optimize what a single wall outlet can do.  This speaker dock with a clock radio lets you charge up to six devices in a space that H-S says is less than the room occupied by a toaster (11 1/2″ L x 10″ W x 7″ D).  The Six Device Charging Clock Radio has three universal docks for two smartphones and a tablet; the connected Bluetooth headset indicates that you can charge things that aren’t in the universal docks, too.  You can playback music from any connected device through the dock’s speakers, listen to FM radio through the built-in receiver, or even set an alarm to wake yourself in the morning.  The dock has a built-in surge protector, too.  It’s available only in black for $99.95.

  2. um, have you even looked at one of these?

it doesn’t have any “docks” at all, but rather powered USB ports that you connect to your devices. the “docks” are just plastic holders for whatever you want. you could charge 6 phones or 6 headsets, or whatever combination of whatever you want. there’s 2 higher power ports for tablets, and 4 regular usb ports

and it’s from http://www.easy-doks.com/ not hammacher schlemmer

@Brad This is a news item, not a review, so I haven’t had any hands on experience – nor do I need it for a news item. I said they were universal docks, which is the term used in the product description and should indicate they are can be used with any device. Hammacher Schlemmer is a famous retailer, so in that sense, the product is “from” Hammacher Schlemmer.

  4. This device works as advertised BUT it is the most inelegant solution. What you have here is a clock radio with six USB ports (no USB cords) and an auxiliary input. The remote control seems to work but were I to drop into my soup I might accidentally eat it. After setting this thing up it has a Rube Goldberg feel. I think that the IHome products have a more ?finished” look and feel. Knowing what I know I wouldn’t have bought it but it does do what it said
