Hmmm.  I thought the purpose of a charging station was to make your desk or tabletop look neater.  The MultiPot Clear Charging Hub with LED Lamp from nova68 corrals the cords, but it doesn’t exactly hide the tangled mess of cables.  This 9.25″ long x 7.5″ tall x 9.25″ wide plastic pot is a lamp with 24 LEDs that direct light both up and down.  Inside are electrical outlets for your device chargers; you lay your smaller items on top while they charge.  The bottom is raised to allow for the charging hub’s own power cable, and that means you can actually plug a laptop’s adapter into one of the hubs and have the charging plug come out from under the hub.  The MultiPot is $320.  Think of it as art.

  2. Wow…a $320 kitchen bowl with a round power strip in it?
I MIGHT pay that much for an “artistic” induction charger (ex- the concrete charger making the rounds)…but even then, the adapters needed (for most phones) don’t make it worthwhile.
Then again, I’m sitting here with a 4x $19.95 MOS (magnetic cable organizers) on my desk currently; some may say that’s a waste.
In the end, I suppose if there’s someone willing to spend that amount of money…

  3. Am I the only one that has noticed that the technology in the example is all 5+ years old? That is a first gen iPod and I think I owned that flip phone in 2004.

  4. for the price of this thing you could get 2 power squids for every room in your house, as well as a zillion cables and adapters from china.

  5. Whoa!! $320.00!! I could go to IKEA get the same container with cover for $10, then buy a POWRAMID Powramid Surge Protector bar at Furtureshop, BestBuy or Home Depot for $24.99. Then make 2 to 4 slits opposite of each other on the circumference of the cover to allow the cable to come through. Then attach POWRAMID to the inside/centre part of the cover (so when you put on the cover it upside in the container) . Plug in devices chargers into power bar, pull cables through the slits, put on cover on container, plug in power bar, and voila for $35.00 you get the same thing.
