Henty Wingman

Here’s the sort of stuff I like – equipment designed right here in my home town of Hobart, Tasmania. 🙂  Don’t you hate it when you have to  travel, and inevitably at the other end that shirt or suit you so carefully packed in your case, bag or suit bag needs ironing?  Well the Henty Wingman is  a bag designed to stop those domestic duties at the other end.  Using a series of semi-rigid ribs, when rolled, the Wingman minimises how creased your clothes will get.  A separate 12-litre  internal bag then holds all your other stuff, and there’s even an external pocket for your favourite tablet for ease of access.  Suitable for any travel, whether involving a vehicle, bicycle or even just walking, the Wingman includes reflective piping for safety, a padded adjustable shoulder strap with a stabilisation strap, separate rain jacket  and a handy top haul handle for wall/hook hanging.

Available from Henty Design’s online store; it costs $179.95 ( $190US), including free worldwide shipping.

  2. I don’t wear a suit (don’t know too many who do any more), but I can see other options for this kinda travel over one shoulder bag. I traveled through Europe with a friend who had a bag like that in 1979; I thought it was better than my large backpack for light travels.
Do’t forget to watch the video on their website!

  3. @Bob – doesn’t have to be a suit or dress shirt. Sometimes I’ll take casual shirts away with me and they end up in a creased mess as well and the last thing I want to do on holidays is iron 🙂

@Stephen – looks like a variation on a theme 🙂 I haven’t played with either but it appears from what I can see that the Skyroll uses the interior bag to hold it’s form while the Wingman uses the struts to hold it’s form and therefore can be used without the inner bag. I’m hoping to pick up a Wingman to review soon 🙂

  4. I have the Henty Backpack and been using for many years – But don’t know that the 2 male clips on the side of the bag mouth are used for? – I read some where that they are used to clip on the additional bag but never been able to see that any where – Is that correct ? (It is used for additional bag?)
