Sick of lugging your bags around airports or bus stations? The Hop! from Cargo Collective is a suitcase that takes away some of the load. As the name might suggest, the suitcase is named for hotel bellhops.  Using three receivers,  the Hop! triangulates its position relative to your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, and using an air-based caterpillar traction system, follows you around at a constant distance.  If the signal is lost, your phone vibrates and your suitcase goes into lock down mode. You can even create a road train of suitcases that follow each other for those who don’t travel light. There’s no indication of its maximum speed, so you might not want to be rushing to get to that departure gate.

It’s still only a concept so there’s no details of availability or pricing yet.

  2. Can’t wait to see how well it deals with multi channel frequency swap when the area is flooded with all kinds of RF saturation. that and it holds 2 shoes, great. this would be great when applied to DARPAs original concept of the dog or C.A.A.T.
