Deeper Smart fisfinder 7

Friday Lab has created Deeper, the first smart sonar fish finding device that supports devices running iOS 4.0+, 5.0+ and Android 2.2+ . If you enjoy fishing, you’ve probably seen fish finding devices before. But the Deeper uses a Bluetooth connection to display the information about the fish, the pond bed, water temperature and obstacles you may bump into, on the screen of a phone or a tablet. The small tennis ball sized device can be attached to your fishing line and dropped into the water from a dock or casted out from the shore or a boat. It has a depth range of 2 Feet – 130 Feet and a temperature range of -4F to 158F degrees. The Deeper Smart Fishfinder is currently seeking funding through Indiegogo. A pledge of $129 will get you one unit. If pre-ordered through Friday Lab’s site, the sonar will cost you $149. The price will rise to $199 after the official release date of September, 2012.

  2. I wonder if there are other uses for this technology. Setting up a monitoring device for a patient and then using Bluetooth sending the info to a tablet in another room. Certainly better than a baby monitor.

  3. I like how the fish are tagged with the little depth digit. Makes me think of a premium app with targeting, lock and dynamite deploy buttons. (Would finally make iPads useful for rednecks.)
