Coming in June from Liquid Image is a new POV Action Camera. The Ego measures 1.6 x 1.2 x 2.5 inches, has a 136° wide angle and an LCD preview screen. Capable of 1080p footage at 30 fps and 12MP stills, the camera comes standard with wireless remote and uses microSDHC up to 32GB. Controls have been pared down to only 2 buttons. It also has the added function of being able to stream real time video or stills via wifi and an included smartphone app. Priced at $150.

Seems pretty good value for price and functions compared with the competition given you get LCD screen, remote and wifi (and I can’t verify if that’s actually a flash on the front) for $150.
I agree Ian. Seems like a winner to me. As a professional filmmaker, I love this stuff. Gives me more coverage for less $$$
Have you looked at the Drift Innovations HD (http://tinyurl.com/7u8oqj2)? It’s not as cheap but the shape and size and rotatable lense might make it more flexible in where you can use than say the Hero Pro or the Liquid Image and the ableit small inbuilt screen would be fine for composing shots (though there’s no wifi streaming for “remote” monitoring).
Don’t look at the videos though, it’s certainly no Twilight Zone or M…M….Max Headroom ..I am not worthy 🙂
Is it possible to use this camera as an IP camera and/or webcam too?
