withings baby scaleWithings already has a WiFi Body Scale for adults that sends your weight to an app for easy tracking.  Now they are introducing the world’s first internet-connected baby and toddler scale.  The Withings Smart Baby Scale won the 2012 CES Innovations Award.  It has a weighing basket for babies that removes and packs compactly for easy travel or storage.  When your child is old enough to stand on her own, just leave the basket off and she’ll be able to stand on the scale.  The Smart Baby Scale has WiFi, Bluetooth, and Bluetooth Smart (Bluetooth low energy) connectivity, and it can transmit your child’s weight reading to an internet-connected computer or to the same iOS WiScale app that you use to track your own weight with the WiFi Body Scale. You can even include photos of your child for a complete record of your child’s growth.  The Smart Baby Scale will be available in Q2 2012; the price hasn’t been announced yet.   Withings is also introducing its Health Cloud platform’s API so third-party service providers can retrieve readings recorded by the Smart Baby Scale.  Learn more about the Smart Baby Scale at Withings, and sign up for an email notification when the scale is available.
