Do you remember the phones from the 70’s (see the rear left phone in the picture above)? Well, Sagemcom Sixty looks like an old fashion phone, but is packed with today’s technology. The Sagemcom Sixty is a wireless DECT phone, with a  built-in answering machine, phone book and a touch panel to display in coming calls and other information.

The phone is available in the UK for £100. More details can be found on their product web page.

  2. @Jonathan: As someone who grew up overseas, and had to move phones around, it should work. Their is little to no difference in actual technology on phones. Worst case is that neither the phone jack or the AC adaptor will match the US standards, in which case you go to RadioShack, and buy an AC brick that puts out the right DC voltage. You might find an adaptor between the phone jack formats, but you might not. If not, hope they’ve sent a phone cord with it. (Just about everyone does.) Cut one end off, and put a US phone jack on it.

  3. It’s not clear from their website if this is a true cordless phone, i.e. the base doesn’t have to be plugged, or just the handset is cordless

  4. Edit: I downloaded the user manual, it’s a corded phone with a cordless handset. With regular phone jack, it should work in North America, however you will not have caller ID, it displays only the caller phone number.
