This 5-in-1 Connection kit from USBFever expands the possibilities for getting data in and out of your iPad or iPad 2.  You’ll be able to transfer data from SD/SDHC/microSD cards, or connect to a TV for video playback,  to a computer (via USB) for data sync and charging, to a USB keyboard, or to a digital camera for direct image transfer.  This connection kit works for both iPad and iPad 2, but it works only with the following iOS firmware versions:   4.1.0, 4.2.1, and 4.3.  The 5-in-1 Connection Kit is $44.99.

What worries me is there have been a few attempts with similar devices like this for the iPhone over the years. Usually an iOS update disables parts of the device, or the device starts giving you “incompatible device” Message on the iDevice. Hope this one’s been apple sanctioned.

Yes, the camera connecter kit I bought in September 2006 never worked on anyhting other than 1 specific iPod model [and that was sporadically successful]
