bubcapI don’t have kids, but apparently toddlers absolutely love to play with iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices. And the one thing that they love to do is press the Home button. Unfortunately, doing so will pop them right out of the application and back to the icon view. In order to avoid frustrated babies, there’s a sticker called the BubCap that covers the home button and is stiff enough that little fingers can’t press it hard enough to activate the home button below it. Adults however won’t have that problem. BubCaps are available in standard or ultra (thicker) version 4 packs for $5.

  2. I have 2 kids, 3 and 1 years old, and after pressing the home button a few times, they’ve figured out how to relaunch the program they were in! Fact. Lol.

  3. My toddler just says “fix it dad” I tell her she has to keep the thumbs on the black part when watching videos. My 3 year old can navigate the netflix interface to find Dora the explorer “Swiper no swiping!” but she has problems with the main interface still.

Mom is getting an ipad for her birthday and then I think my daughter probably won’t want Dad to put her to bed anymore.

  4. Thanks for this article! I just got my BubCap pack and after one day I can say they really work great. My daughter is 16 months, and no matter what I say or do, she just presses the home button randomly on my iPhone when I try to get her try apps (she keeps getting into my contact, and I don’t want her to mess up that info!). BubCaps seem to have solved this problem. Maybe when she’s 2+ she’ll have the skills your kids have Lofish and TonyW. But, for now, covering the home button is a great way me to lock her in an app, and she’s finally getting a hang of the apps now that she’s not pressing the home button every 2 seconds.
