thinkgeek igala digital frameThe iGala WiFi digital photo frame, available now at ThinkGeek, has a Linux-based brain inside.  You don’t even need a computer to get this frame connected to your WiFi and setup to receive pictures.  After setup, this frame can log on to a Gmail account and add any emailed photos to its 1GB internal memory.  The frame comes in two flavors: one for FrameChannel service and one for Windows Live FrameIt service (currently not available at ThinkGeek).  Neither of these services are required for use, but if you choose to use one of these services, they can add content such as weather, news, sports info, and collect photos from Flickr, Picasa, Webshots, Facebook and other photo sharing services.  (You can switch between FrameIt and FrameChannel with a firmware flash.)  You can also add content from USB mass storage or with an SD card.  The frame has an 8″ 4:3 800X600 digital LCD, and it uses 802.11 b/g WiFi with WEP, WPA and WPA2.  It can even play MP3 files and has a clock and alarm – perfect for your bedside table.   The iGala WiFi digital photo frame costs $239.99 and is available now in the FrameChannel version and in the FrameIt version in about 1-3 weeks.
