I’ve seen lots of speaker sets for iPhones and iPods, but I’ve never seen one like the Macally AmpTune. This speaker and charger system has two docks, so you can connect your iPhone or iPod in horizontal or vertical orientation. The AmpTune runs on batteries or AC power; your Apple device will be charged when the AC adapter is used. You can listen to music or watch videos with your iPhone or iPod touch in either orientation. You can also use the AmpTune with other iPods. The speakers slide together to save space when the docks aren’t needed, and slide open to allow you to connect your Apple device. There’s a line-in jack so you can use the AmpTune even if you don’t have an iPhone or iPod. The AmpTune is $69.99 from Macally.
