Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.

No I haven’t. They seem like very entertaining and useful gadgets. If I win, I’ll definitely use it to supercharge my media habit.

4 Clayton Dewberry September 1, 2010 at 7:05 pm

I don’t have any Mvix products today, but would use the device to stream media that get off the web as well as the various media that my family produces these days – pictures, video, and audio. Loooks like a great solution with a well designed interface.

5 Liz September 1, 2010 at 7:10 pm

Have not used Mvix before but look forward to winning and trying out their products. I could use a boost in my media.

6 Troy September 1, 2010 at 7:20 pm

I have not used a Mvix product before but I have recommended one after seeing all of the positive reviews. Of any brand of standalone media center and/or PVR I’ve been impressed with the high number of positive customer reviews, the styling, and the apparent ease of use. I would definitely use Ultio Pro in my room, I’m the primary TV watcher in the house but when I’m concentrating on my work at the computer I can’t really pay attention to it. Having the PVR will be a lifesaver!

7 Dan Myer September 1, 2010 at 7:21 pm

I have not tried the product as of yet, but I cannot wait to try them. I think these products are the future! Dan M

I have never used MVIX Products before ,but after reading more they are very impressive ,I would use it as an all-around media Hub for Movies and recorded content.

9 Anthony September 1, 2010 at 8:01 pm

I have used Mvix products before, but I have great things about them. I currently use a modded xbox with XBMC. It doesn’t support HD so I am definitely looking for something to replace it!
Thanks

Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.

“I have not used Mvix products before, but I think this product has potential. If I were to win, I would use it to record movies for playback. I love the units ability to manage files from the remote control, this freedom from the PC is essential. I would love to win.

Thanks

Steve

11 Bruce September 1, 2010 at 8:29 pm

Never used them, lusted after them and would love integrating one into my home theater system.

12 Mick September 1, 2010 at 8:37 pm

No I have not. This answers the question, doesn’t it ?

13 Jackie Cheng September 1, 2010 at 8:47 pm

I have an old Mvix media center drive 2 years ago. Their product are pretty reliable and works great! I have since given it to my cousin to use. I used it with my entertainment system in the living room. Works great on all the divx videos that I have.

14 Ferdinand A. September 1, 2010 at 8:49 pm

Nope but I’m surfing the net for quite sometime now for reviews about digital signage systems. I work as a programs promotion officer in a government office in the Philippines. We participated a lot in trade fairs and exhibits. Before, we simply rely on tarpaulins and laptops and bulky projector screens. The Mvix Digital Signage System will give new light to my office’s promotional campaign materials e.g. promo or informational videos, digital slideshows and a lot more. But what I like more about this product is its small form factor design which means portability that even my female staff can bring anytime anywhere.

15 Michael September 1, 2010 at 8:59 pm

I have never used MVIX products before. However, reading about it, I think it sounds like an excellent product. I would use it to turn my plasma TV, DVD & stereo into a home theater.

16 Abhishek Duggal September 1, 2010 at 9:03 pm

Yes, I’ve used Mvix products before. I think that they’re innovative and reliable, and I plan on using the Mvix Ultio Pro : HD Media Center with PVR’s File Management via Remote Control feature to complete tasks like formatting hard-drive, Copy, Delete, Rename of files and even physical transfer of files between USB storage, Network shares, PC and its internal HDD simply via the hand-held remote.

17 Barry Nugent September 1, 2010 at 9:04 pm

I have an Mvix 780HD for over two years and use it constantly, a great little box, I use this to stream from my media server onto a big screen in the lounge, works with almost everything, the user interface is a little slow but works and I can see all of the other drives that are available throughout my home network and stream from them as well.
Love it.

18 S. Russell September 1, 2010 at 9:15 pm

Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.” No, not yet. But I look forward to using MX-880D!

19 akjack September 1, 2010 at 9:19 pm

Haven’t used these products, but will if I win. Thanks

20 Tonyw September 1, 2010 at 10:19 pm

1. Have you used Mvix products before?
No, I have not used a Mvix product yet.

2. What do you think about Mvix products?
They look fracken ORSM!!! Great codec support, HD outputs, great features – If I dont win, I will probably buy one!

3. How do you plan on using this product?
First – throw my EVA8000 in the trash; second – connect to my network; third – get a big bag of popcorn; fourth – start watchin some shows!

24 Vicki September 2, 2010 at 12:38 am

I’ve used one of MVix’s media streamers at a friends house. I liked it, and have been wanting to get one for a while! I plan to use this as my main torrent downloader. I cancelled cable, so I rely on torrents (and hulu) to catch up with all my tv shows! :) I’d also throw all my movies and pictures on the Ultio instead of them occupying space on my computer. Hope I win!

25 Johnny September 2, 2010 at 1:16 am

I have not used Mvix products before.

I reviewed the Mvix Ultio Pro online and it is awesome!! The functionalities are great such as the space for a hard drive, streaming wirelessly, ISO playback, and copy to and from PC. It is way better than the new Apple TV!!

I would definitely use it in for the TV in the living room.

I really want it!! Thanks.

26 Jay Tan September 2, 2010 at 1:57 am

I have not used Mvix products before but I am familiar with media players. Mvix products look well designed and user friendly. If I win this media center, I will use it to replace my old WDTV which does not have internal storage.

27 Henry Lum September 2, 2010 at 2:27 am

Honestly , I don’t have any Mvix products , nor have I heard of their products… *sad face* (I know!) But , I did do some research and saw a lot of positive feedback on their products. I plan on using this product for personal and dorm usages. I go to university , everything is crazy.

28 joshjoshlol September 2, 2010 at 2:47 am

I haven’t used a Mvix product before, but it’s certainly a product line that I’ve been eyeing for a while. I got the original WDTV a good while back and feel like I’ve been ‘stuck’ with its lackluster performance and WD’s lack of serious upgrades ever since; I’m definitely looking for excellent alternatives to what WD has to offer, and the Mvix seems to encompass that.

Mvix was always a top contender for my initial purchase, but the brick and mortar purchasability of WDTV pushed me in that direction. The adaptation of various subtitle types is definitely appealing…

I would set it up to be the center piece to my entertainment section. The PS3 has seen less and less action these days, only really being enjoyed for its Netflix capabilities; I’d love to move it elsewhere, trash the WDTV, and have 1 unified, do-it-all box flanking my TV. I think the Mvix could be just the thing.

29 Eric September 2, 2010 at 4:34 am

I had never heard of Mvix before, but I have been looking at PVR’s for a while. I love that it has bittorrent support built in. I will use it in the living room, for most of my video watching.

30 Gadgetman September 2, 2010 at 4:52 am

I have not heard of their products, but I would use it like all my gadgets, TO THE MAX!

31 Ron September 2, 2010 at 5:34 am

“Have you used Mvix products before?”
Yes

“What do you think about them?”
Fantastic. Very easy to use. Stable (for the most part) and play just about any video I throw at it.

“How do you plan on using them?”
For home entertainment. It’s much easier to put my videos on it then to burn them to DVD.

32 dbng September 2, 2010 at 5:43 am

Never even heard of Mvix but this looks really interesting.

33 d malone September 2, 2010 at 6:29 am

I have not used Mvix products before but it appears to be a great product. If I had one I would use it to set up a media center-about time I broke down and joined the current generation.
Deborah

34 Fred September 2, 2010 at 8:29 am

I have never use Mvix products before, but I have read good reviews about them. I plan to use them as TV recorder.

35 Tim Callahan September 2, 2010 at 8:53 am

1. Have you used Mvix products before?
No, I have never used a Mvix product.

2. What do you think about Mvix products?
I had not heard of them before, so I’ll have to do some research.

3. How do you plan on using this product?
I would drop my cable tv service and just use a broadband ISP with this device for my entertainment and web surfing desires.

36 Mike Paranich September 2, 2010 at 9:43 am

Have you used Mvix products before,
I haven’t used a Mvix product before

what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them

I plan on using this amazing piece of technology to reduce my cable bills. I’m a single dad with two daughters and wrestle with the cable bill every month, some times it wins, LOL. I have a 53 inch projection tv that I got for free and repaired, and this would be amazing to add to it.

37 meeyeehere September 2, 2010 at 9:49 am

My husband has used their products in the past and has been very please.I am not sure exactly how my husband would use this but I believe it will be part of his work. He mixes, master CDs for people, and edits videos and so forth. I know very little but I know he would be very happy with me if I won this for him!

38 Gaurav September 2, 2010 at 9:53 am

I haven’t used any product from Mvix before. I think there are some pretty decent options from Mvix when it comes to HD media centers. How would I use them? Well, I’d use any of Mvix’s products to stream video to my TV, record the occasional show that I’d miss when I’m out, and store and play all the HD clips taken using my camcorder. Oh, and the occasional torrent too.

39 Pete September 2, 2010 at 10:12 am

I own a Mvix MX760HD. It’s been great and I have I high opinion of Mvix products. I would use this in my living room to record and watch my TV shows.

40 TheDreamer September 2, 2010 at 10:45 am

“Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.”

I haven’t used Mvix products before, I had at various times thought about getting one to play with. Though I did recommend them to a friend once, who had a bad experience and ended up returning it.

Would plan to use them at home somewhere in my home entertainment setup….direct play of other media types would be nice (rather than transcode for TiVo or AppleTV), and I can never have too many PVRs. (though I am down from 7 ReplayTVs to 2…but I do have 3 TiVos now, 2 HDs and a Premiere…and an old AppleTV, which I wish did more…)

41 Chip September 2, 2010 at 10:48 am

I haven’t used their products before, but I currently have a HTPC that is being taxed pretty hard by using it both as the entertainment system in the living room as well as a media center extender for the Xbox 360 in the basement. It would be nice to be able to have separate systems to use in both locations. When I was building my HTPC, I looked into Mvix and ended up with a deal that I couldn’t refuse on a Shuttle based system, or I probably would have went with them. The reviews that I have read on these products have been overwhelmingly positive….

42 Adam Huelskamp September 2, 2010 at 11:23 am

1. Have you used Mvix products before?
Nope

2. What do you think about Mvix products?
I had not heard of them before, so I’ll have to look in to.

3. How do you plan on using this product?
personal/home

43 Henry B September 2, 2010 at 11:35 am

I have never used Mvix products before. I love that a company is building and marketing these devices as an alternative to the crappy set top boxes you get from the cable/satellite companies. I would use this to replace my current htpc box that is starting to get old and unreliable (crashing weekly).

44 John N September 2, 2010 at 11:36 am

I have never used Mvix products but they look very interesting

45 Joe Diaz September 2, 2010 at 11:38 am

I’ve never used these products.
I’ve no thoughts about products that I’ve never heard about before.
I’m sure some use could be found once I know what they do.

46 ellory September 2, 2010 at 11:39 am

I had never heard of Mvix before, but I have been looking at PVR’s. I will definitely consider

47 Frank Kerner September 2, 2010 at 11:40 am

1. Have you used Mvix products before?
No, but I plan on doing so in the near future.

2. What do you think about Mvix products?
I’ve heard many good things about Mvix products from friends.

3. How do you plan on using this product?
I plan on using it to catch up with older television shows I’ve bought that stay on my computer, but watching them on a larger screen so as not to strain my eyes and be confined to my computer chair!

48 Jim September 2, 2010 at 12:12 pm

heard of them but never used a high performance item like this.

49 Ken September 2, 2010 at 1:03 pm

“Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.”

I have not used Mvix products, and really have not heard of them. The Mvix Ultio PRO (MX-880HD) with the big HD looks like a fully loaded product, as long as the on screen navigation is good, it should fulfill anyones tv needs. I would use it for watching tv at home, and streaming Hulu.

50 Rudi Pittman September 2, 2010 at 1:17 pm

I have previously not heard of or used MVIX products but I find their description quite intriguing and I think it would be a wonderful addition to the htpc I keep in the living room for entertainment purposes.

51 Deby September 2, 2010 at 1:23 pm

Never heard of them so never used. Would use to archive massive .pst files for our users at the non-profit where I work.

52 Heather S September 2, 2010 at 1:26 pm

I’ve never heard nor used Mvix products before, but my brother in law is a musician and would LOVE this!
I wouldn’t plan on using it, as I’d gift it to him for Christmas! Cheers!

53 Steve September 2, 2010 at 1:32 pm

Can’t say that I have used MVIX Products before. But I like what I read about them. I would use it mostly for watching movies that I have archived on my server. Cool.

54 Doug September 2, 2010 at 1:39 pm

1. I have an older MVIX Ultio.

2. I love using the Ultio. I’ve always thought that everything should be more like Star Trek, where you have one master library computer that contains all of the movies, tv shows, and music that you want to own. And the Ultio gives me that.

3. I would use the Ultio as an upgrade to my home theater.

55 Kelly September 2, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I haven’t tried it yet, but am eager to learn!

56 John September 2, 2010 at 2:00 pm

I have not used Mvix products before–I have not been aware of them (so this is a good offering!). I would use it to archive media and consolidate media from various PC and laptop storage around the house, as well as allow some PVR (only have DVD-RAM now). Just send me one!

57 Shane Powers September 2, 2010 at 2:24 pm

I have not used the Mvix products before. After this post I have looked more into them. I would use them to store lots of media.

58 Johann September 2, 2010 at 2:30 pm

Would be streaming and downloading content to my tv

59 AR September 2, 2010 at 2:35 pm

1. Have you used Mvix products before?
No. Have not even heard about them.

2. What do you think about them?
Given that I have not heard about them before, there is not much to think about them. Now that I have read this post, I will look at them.

3. How do you plan on using them?
Playing movies, showing off my pictures, listening to music. All this and more at home.

60 Bob Deloyd September 2, 2010 at 2:51 pm

1) have you used Mvix products before?
No I never ever heard of Mvix :(

2) what do you think about them?
Don’t know but if I win one I’ll write a review on it :)

3) how do you plan on using them?
The possibilities are endless :D

61 Rainer Mueller September 2, 2010 at 2:56 pm

Never used a Mvix product.
Hadn’t run across their products yet.
I’ll use this at home, maybe this will finally get me to cancel my cable tv.

62 Forrest Lee September 2, 2010 at 3:04 pm

I’m sad I have never had the chance to try this out. I think based on their reputation they are good products. If I won one, I would definitely enjoy using it.

63 Eddie Neyman September 2, 2010 at 3:08 pm

Have you used Mvix products before? Never before, I am in the market for a great HD 1080p media player and this is the total package with both internal HDD and external USB capability.

what do you think about them? Impressive media players, great for the home theater and media freaks who love high def content and storing their collections.. just like me.

and how do you plan on using them? If I win, I will hook this bad boy up to a sharp quattron LED hdtv and play my high def bluray mkv movies off the internal hard drive as well as usb external drives. High capacity means it will store a nice sized collection

cheers,
thanks for the opportunity!

64 Edgar Keedy September 2, 2010 at 3:10 pm

1. Have you used Mvix products before?
No, but I’ve heard of them.

2. What do you think about Mvix products?
Good quality products.

3. How do you plan on using this product?
As part of my home entertainment center.

65 Charles Hutchinson September 2, 2010 at 3:13 pm

Have you used Mvix products before?
No I have not used them before. I have a Neuros OSD that was great for what is was but is now of very limited use. I currently have a Netgear Digital Entertainer Live EVA2000 in my main theatre setup. This also has fallen short in many regards. So once again I am looking for a good small digital media player for my three TV viewing rooms.

What do you think about them?
I’ve been quite interested in their products for the last several years now but have not gone online to purchase any more AV equipment for some time now. It would be nice to finally get the one box that does everything I need.

How do you plan on using them?
I have a large collection of media, both video and audio that I have converted from my CD/DVD collection as well as my old VHS (see Neuros OSD above) tapes. I have also been an Emusic.com subscriber for the last ten years which adds greatly to my online library. As my life and home become more minimalist in nature I am looking for a classy well thought out device to enjoy my ever growing library of media to enjoy with my home theatre setup. I will be adding a full home control setup to the current 4 zone audio I have in my house and it would be great if this device worked with that setup. Currently Control 4 is the vendor that I am most likely going to have installed when then time is right.

Thank You,

Charles

66 Mike September 2, 2010 at 3:14 pm

I can’t say that I’ve ever used or even seen used a Mvix product, but they sound pretty darn cool. I’d love to try one out and see if it makes my media consumption either more convenient, cheaper, or more enjoyable (or any combination of the 3). I hear good things! Then again, I hear good things about Apple products too and imho, they all blow.

67 Joel September 2, 2010 at 3:24 pm

Drooled over the specs of several of their products but alas that it was only as a dream that MVIX ever entered my home. Whoever thought of the concept of combining p2p and home theatre can have my whole left over spindle of 100′s of DVD-R’s – Brilliant!. Just imagine you’re finished watching an episode of your favorite show and the next episode has just finished downloading, click … ah bliss.

68 Jennifer Woosley September 2, 2010 at 4:00 pm

I have not used Mvix products, can’t say I was aware of them but would be excited to try them :)

Haven’t used them, but from what I’m hearing, they’re quite fun.

70 Mauro September 2, 2010 at 4:27 pm

2. What do you think about Mvix products?
From some reviews the have good quality products.

3. How do you plan on using this product?
I will defintevily use it as part of my home entertainment center.

71 Eric B. September 2, 2010 at 4:48 pm

I have not used Mvix products before, but they seem very promising. I think their products would definitely be worth looking at and investing in. I would plan to use them for storing files from my digital camcorder and playing with the record from TV or Cable feature!

72 Sebastian612“Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.” September 2, 2010 at 5:11 pm

“Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.”

Answer: I have not used Mvix products in the past because I didn’t KNOW about them. From what I can see from your product description on the “Gadgets” site, you produce a product that is in its own dimension or category. I have a gradiose plan (grandiose because it may be too ambitious). My plan consists of networking my five computers (4 desktops and 1 laptop with XP, Vista, and Win7) to include my 47″ Toshiba Regza TV with all accessories — DVD, VCR, and CD player through my ONKYO receiver. Currently, I am capturing video off the TV and burning DVD’s; converting old VCR tapes to DVD; converting old audio tapes to CD’s (both MP3 and audio format); converting camcorder video to DVD. Your product will bring me closer to the “grandiose” system I envision!!!

73 Daniel G. September 2, 2010 at 5:36 pm

I have not used Mvix products before because before now, I never heard of them. I went to the site and read the specs and sounds great!

74 Nancy September 2, 2010 at 5:47 pm

“Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.”

I haven’t heard of Mvix before, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t a great product because I’ve noticed that alot of the higher end product brands are ones I’ve never heard of or can afford! As for the Mvix, I would definitely put it in my living room next to the cable box, dish box, dvd player box, etc…and I would finally be able to watch some of the not-so popular Asian shows, show my mom/grandma cool Youtube videos, record satellite shows which I usually have to stay awake until 3am to watch or else I’ll miss it!

75 Jennifer Ward September 2, 2010 at 6:02 pm

“Have you used Mvix products before, what do you think about them, and how do you plan on using them.”

Never heard of the brand, would love to find out more :)

This would be great for my PC since I also use it as a TV!

76 Jill September 2, 2010 at 6:50 pm

I have not used Mvix products, but I’d definitely like to try them. They seem like excellent quality products and if I won I’d use this along with my TV to watch movies and TV shows. (:

I am not familiar with mvix products. It sounds like a great competitor for apple tv. I would use this unit for home use.

No I havent, I read reviews about them and I would love to own a machine that does what it does. I would use this in my family room of my house. My family and I could connect this to our new LCD tv and watch great movies.

I’ve never heard of MVIX. This device looks like a great way to enhance TV viewing, and possibly get rid of cable altogether. If I owned something like this I’d try to do just that!

I have not use Mvix products before. Haven’t heard of them before.

I really like the form factor. It’s small and not overly flashy. Price was very surprisingly cheap. I would have guess it to cost much more.

I plan on using this by hooking it up to my home theater system. Basically use it to watch all the stuff I now have on my computer.
