A New Way to Read People Magazine – on Your iPad

Recently, Dave Rees told us about reading magazines on the iPad using the Zinio app for iPad.  The Zinio app is sort of a librarian to manage your “e-magazine” subscriptions that you purchase through the Zinio service.  The People magazine app for iPad manages only the People magazine issues.  You can buy individual issues as they become available weekly through the app.  Currently, individual issues cost $3.99, and you can store as many issues on your iPad as you wish.  I downloaded the free People app and bought the most current issue.  As you can imagine, it takes a few minutes to download a really image-filled publication, but it did download without problems.  The digital copy supposedly contains the entire contents of the print magazine, plus it has extra pictures, videos, song samples, and the like that you can only access in the digital copy.  The magazine app worked flawlessly.  I was able to page through, read, and access the special features easily.  There is a tutorial to teach you how to use the magazine if you need it.  If you already subscribe to the print version of People magazine, you can download the digital version of each issue for free during your subscription period.  Unfortunately, there is currently no digitial-only subscription.
