The U.S. Government has a small number of apps for mobile phones that allow you to do a variety of things.  You can learn about product recalls, get information about TSA rules, news from the White House or the EPA, see the FBI’s most wanted, find and contact the nearest US Embassy from anywhere else in the world, find a source of alternate fuel, or get nutrition information, and other things.  Some of these apps are for Android, some for iPhone, and some are web-based and accessible with your phone’s browser.  Unfortunately none of these apps are available on all platforms.  Most of these apps are free.  Check them out at the Mobile App website.
