Measuring in at a tiny 0.6mm thin, it utilized a crystal clear Polycarbonate material which is 0.8mm on the sides to clear contact with iPhone 4’s new antenna system and super thin 0.6mm on the back for the ultimate protection. The Reception case retails for $14.99 (USD) and comes with both front and back scratch free body armors in addition to the Polycarbonate shell that snaps on the back of the iPhone. It is available now at IvySkin’s online store.

  2. Julie–Have you seen this live? Looks like it could be good for the iPhone 4 that is supposed to arrive in a few days, but it is hard to tell. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

  3. It looks like my kind of case: protection without covering up the iPhone’s beautiful back or side. If I get an iPhone, I would like this case. I wonder how much protection this case offer as it is too thin.

I have used Ivy skin cases in the past for iPhone models and although the notion of a case that covers the front and back in clear casing is nice, the front always forms what seems like water spot between the case and the screen. Ivy claimed it was static and walked me through trying to get rid of it, ended up returning and eating my original shipping cost.

    Hi,
This is easily resolved by the following steps: Please note that these are caused by static so you need to release the static build up by removing the iPhone, clean its screen and before you install it, touch a metal object while holding the phone and the case in your hand. Then you can install the iphone into the case.

    RE: Order#000023590

After talking with Matt, and still not receiving my order, I was hoping someone could help me determine its status. Supposedly, it was shipped on 20 July First Class under shipping number 9101 8052 1390 7564 9983 51. I think I should have received it by now after 11 days. Please help me conclude this transaction positively. Matt’s email to me is below. Thanking you in advance.

We apologize for any inconveniences.

  6. I am in the same situation.
Ordered on July 7, received notice of shipping on July 17 (to be shipped in July 20), still no case.

I’ve tried phoning them this morning, but no one answers the customer service line. I’ve now sent them an e-mail as well.
We’ll see how / when they respond.

So far I’m not too thrilled with their communication and order processing. I’m reserving judgment on the product.

  7. I finally received my Reception Case this morning — I should have received it yesterday, but I’m having issues with my local post office. Still no response from Ivyskin to my polite e-mail regarding the LATE shipping.

The case itself is okay. I wouldn’t trust it to protect my phone from a fall, but it absolutely solves the antenna problem and still slides in and out of pockets easily. The case only covers the sides, back and corners of the phone, leaving the lower speakers / mic / dock connector and headphone jack open. There are cutouts for the ringer silence switch and volume buttons.
I have not installed the front and back glass protectors, and that may not happen since Apple has recently shipped my free Griffin case.

Overall, it think $15 + shipping is maybe a bit much, but still a better deal than $30 for a rubberband.

    I’ll give the case a 3 out of 5.
    IvySkin’s customer service gets a 0 out of 5.

  8. Do NOT buy the Ivyskin leather case! Mine ripped three days after I bought it – yes, the LEATHER ripped when I pulled the strap to get my iPhone out. AND, despite a clear statement on the Ivyskin website that the leather case is covered by a full lifetime warranty, they refused to give me a refund. Not surprisingly, they refused to post my negative review on their website….

  9. I ordered an Ivyskin case and the glass was broken upon delivery. I asked for a replacement and they first sent back a reply about how they ship carefully. Well it was broken and I had to respond three times before they said they would ship another. Well at least a month goes by and nothing. I email a few more times and then I get an invoice to pay for a new glass! They have the worst customer service and I would never buy another case from them. Please do not not anything from them. The case was very flimsy and the plastic was obviously cheap. Just warning other buyers!!!
