I’ve seen several covers for ereaders and the iPad that are described as Moleskine-style cases, but this is the first official Moleskine cover for Kindle. Moleskine says they were inspired to make the cover by people who create their own custom notebooks by hacking Moleskine notebooks. They describe the Kindle cover as an “analog-digital hybrid tool” designed for “e-bookworms”. The outside of the case looks just like the iconic Moleskine – smooth black cover with the elastic band closure. Inside the suede-lined cover, the Kindle is held in place by four elastic bands. There’s also a set of two Moleskine Volant Reporter plain notebooks that fit inside the front of the cover for your hand-written notes. Great find, Janet. I love the style of these Moleskine notebooks. I wonder if they will come out with a similar one for the iPad?
This would be a great cover if it could be reversed, the notebook on the right hand side.
@Fred I agree, but my left-handed daughter would think it’s perfect the way it is. It would be nice if it had Kindle holders on both sides and notepad holders on both sides, so you could choose.

I needed a case for my 3rd Gen Kindle 6″. It seems that pretty much the only current options are the Amazon official case. That said, it’s really nice and I am VERY pleased with it, although it felt a tad overpriced at $35. I opted to get a lamp for my bedside table instead of the one for $60 that comes with a booklight. I’m new too ebook reads and I’ll admit I love my 3rd Gen 6″ Kindle – very easy on the eyes. There are some minor human-kindle interface things I’d change, but nothing drastic.
