I gotta say I’m a little disappointed in the response time for getting a sizing from emailing a picture to yurbuds. I’ve killed one side of two pairs of sony headphones including their “active” model from sweating during working out. I would like to try their offering but just under a weeks time isn’t a very encouraging turn around time.

@Dan – OK, I take it all back. Imimpatient, old and cranky. Love the yurbuds and never run without them! I shouldn’t have left a review before I really gave them a chance. They stay in easily, and even work with a headband on (now that it’s cold.)

They’re pink, too. Always a good thing.

@Joan: I’m so sorry about the unability to use yurbuds. Some common problems people run in to are the rotation of the yurbud on the headphone. If you were sized at an expo, I am sure you were accurately sized, but if they were rotated the wrong way or on the wrong ear (L or R), it would make a difference. @cdtan99: I’m sorry for any confusion at the NYC Marathon. The Ironman Series Yurbuds DO NOT come with two pairs of the same size. The extra $20 charge is not for the extra set of yurbuds, rather the upgraded headphones. The additional pair in the box is to fit the ears of a larger group of people who are buying our products at Big Box stores like Best Buy. PLEASE contact me at info@yurbuds.com and I will send you a FREE second set of Yurbuds to go with the ones you already purchased.

I bought the Ironman series at the Javit Convention Center during the week of the NYC marathon. I was told that I’d get two pairs of yurbuds but the other pair didn’t fit. When I called customer service, I was told that only one pair will actually fit. What’s the use of having your ears measured if they’re gonna give you a pair that doesn’t fit anyway? Customer service said the same thing but until now their website still states that you get an extra pair of yurbuds for each purchase of the Ironman series. Don’t buy the Ironman series if you want two pairs.

I bought a pair of these at the Expo, before the Portland Marathon last weekend. I am definitely in the minority – ’cause I gave them away soon after. Obviously I’m doing something wrong…but when I tried to “twist” the earbud to lock it in, it just fell out. After five or six tries, I gave up. Way too much effort and aggravation. Also twenty wasted dollars.

I just got a pair of yurbuds. I think the price is a little too high for something I will almost definitely lose. They are cheap little pieces of rubber. They should send you a few sets for this much money considering what you actually get.

I went into a slackers or a $2 wire and saw the demo for these, since it was a local STL business I thought I’d try them, I was so impressed I dropped $19.99 on these. All it took was a minute for them to measure me ear with a strange round ruler and I was off. These make any cheap headset feel better than Dr. Dres!

I LOVE MY YURBUDS!!!!
I have spent countless dollars and years trying to find earbuds that fit my ears, do not fall out, do not cause pain to my ears, and were still comfortable. While at the Disney Princess Half Marathon Expo in March I had told my running buddy I needed a good pair of earbuds. We found the Yurbud table and we all walked away with Yurbuds. I bought a pair for myself, a pair for my daughter and a pair for my sister-in-law. I am so happy to finally have a pair of earbuds that I LOVE:)

@Andy, thanks for the response. I’ll consider trying again. Perhaps if I just order a pair, I’ll get the information that I need. I’m really intrigued to try the yurbuds on some low grade headphones (such as the free ones you get when travelling on airlines) and see what difference it makes to the sound quality.

I also recently got a Nokia phone which has pretty decent headphones. They are really uncomfortable to wear though; I think the yurbuds could really help with comfort.

I wanted to provide an additional option. We make a very new, inexpensive product called Breppies. Breppies are made of a moisture resistant fabric, they make earbuds incredibly comfortable, and ensure you can be very active without your buds falling out. They also come in a wide variety of colors. It might be a great option for those of you with standard Apple or Apple type earbuds.

I’ve been through… probably 10 sets of headphones since New Years alone (no seriously), and one of my biggest problems is that the ear pieces just do not fit.

@Jared I’ve sent an email to my contact at Yurtopia to see if I can get any info on the Yuradapters.

As for the measurement issue, it appears that an Australian 10-cent piece is smaller in diameter than a US quarter by less than one millimeter. If you cannot get your hands on a US quarter at your local bank, you may be able to substitute a 10-cent piece. There are only six possible sizes, and I can’t imagine that .8mm is going to make the difference.

I first read about yurbuds on the Gadgeteer about 3 months ago, where a short article about the product appeared in my google feeds.

I contacted the company right away, and wanted to find out about the yurbuds and yuradapters. I sent about 5 emails to the company, but I heard nothing back. Just an out of office reply from one of the owners (I think it was anyhow).

I got frustrated, because I have a pair of Sony MDR-EX90SL headphones, and wanted to get the yurphone silicone and yuradapters to see if the already excellent sound quality of these headphones would be enhanced.

Like you say, there is no pricing information about the yuradapters on the site, which is frustrating. I also don’t have a quarter (because I live in Australia), or Apple headphones to use as a sizing tool.

So if you’re reading this yurtopia, please think about your international customers. I know that if I got a set of yurbuds, half my office would also probably get them as well after seeing what they can do for standard bud earphones.
