As much as we gadget-fiends might like to have Bluetooth or WiFi connections for all of our peripheral devices, unfortunately the technosphere hasn’t yet caught up to our vision.  If cable management is an issue for you, check out the Gumbycord, er… Flexicord (sorry, couldn’t resist) by Ziotek.  Patent-pending Memory Cord Technology allows Flexicord to hold virtually any shape into which you may be inclined to bend it, like a loose gadget holder, smartphone stand or even to help you manage some of your other cables.  Comes in multiple cable types including mini-USB and USB 2.0, S-video, HDMI 1.3, composite RCA and CAT5e network, all in various lengths.  Also includes a “coiling tube” to help restore it to a uniformly helical shape.  Available at X-Treme Geek, Cyberguys and other online e-tailers.  MSRP looks to generally be $24.99 for all but the CAT5e, which is $34.99.

it’s a good idea, assuming its effective and neat. i’m off to get a coil-type organiser for the cables on the back of my tv (tv power cable, antenna, HD recorder HDMI cable + power cable, surround sound + power, dvd player video/sound + power, play station + video/sound + power and last but not least the laptop screen, sound and power cables

eventually i’ll have a custom built tv cabinet…
