Yes, it most definitely has! If your OS installation can take advantage of the hardware acceleration in the NVIDIA ION, you can decode 1080p video with very low CPU load. See for example:

May I suggest to take a close look at XBMC 
http://xbmc.org/
if you want a good media center. It absolutely ROCKS! Trust me.</description>
