ostendoDo you have multiple LCDs connected to your desktop or laptop computer. Would you trade them for this 41 inch wide monster from Ostendo? The CRVD has a 43 inch diagonal curved display with a maximum resolution of 2880 x 900. It’s actually a projection monitor that uses DLP technology. It has DVI and HDMI inputs and a hefty price tag of around $8000. That is, if it ever comes to market. I can’t seem to find any online stores selling this beast.

  2. Hmm… 70 dpi, no thanks. I suppose it might be good for some types of gaming, but if I need to get actual work done I’d much rather have multiple LCDs and save the other $7k for something else, like a Mac Pro or two years of health insurance 🙂

  3. I don’t think so. I run 3 identical 22″ Widescreen LCD’s. My Type II personality along w/ a mental disposition that inclines me to compartmentalize would not allow for the single wide monitor. :0

It would sort of like the gravy from your mashed potatoes touching your peas, not good……

  4. Well personally I think this is freaking AWESOME…I think I’m the opposite of David and can’t stand borders around multiple monitors. Plus, with this one my wife can’t say “why the hell do you need more than one monitor???” 😀

  5. Quad monitor user here (4x1280x1024).
    2880×900 is a lower resolution than what you can get with a cheap dual screen setup (2x1280x1024 = 2560×1024 = 2621440 pixels vs 2880×900 = 2592000 pixels).

Would i trade my LCDs for this? Definatly. Stick it on ebay at $7000 for a quick sale, buy myself 4 really nice, high resolution plasmas, and have money left over. 🙂

  6. I would personally buy 9x47inch LCD TV’s with 1080p resolution and use them as my Gi-Normous screen for the same sort of price and fill an entire wall. Why on earth would you spend all that money on a screen no bigger than 1 HD TV shaped like a banana, jeez!

  7. were i to be a gaming enthusiast, im sure i would prefer vusix glasses and the head motion sensor setup which would actually give one 360* view motion… for far less than 8 friggin thousand dollars and it would fit in a much smaller space. but thats just me.

  8. That’s quite something. Would eradicate the need for multi screen support if this came to market.

Personally, I’ve never needed more than one monitor and I think I’d struggle if I did but even I have to admit that this does look impressive.
