kindle-periscopeI really like my Kindle eBook reader, but I’m always wishing that it had a backlight. Yeah, I know that E-ink displays can’t be backlit, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting on though :) In the mean time, I might check out the Periscope Lighted Folio. It’s a cover that also features a built-in retractable twin LED reading light, as well as notepad and pen holders. The light is powered by three “AA” batteries (not included) that last at least 40 hours. They sell versions for the Kindle 1 and 2 that are priced at $49.95. A version for the DX is also available for $59.95.
