Microsoft has announced the new LifeCam Cinema, the first consumer webcam to offer widescreen video with a native 720p sensor. That means that it will record at 1280×720 resolution. This camera also features Auto Focus, which keeps video sharp no matter how far the distance from the LifeCam — from 4 inches to infinity. It will be available next month for $80.

Before heading over to Amazon or where-ever and buying this, take a look at the system requirements.
“recommended: Intel Dual-Core 3.0 GHz or higher, 2 GB of RAM ”

Well when you think about it, the computer needed to run this will have to have enough power to code HD video efficiently. I think this is great. It won’t be long before we have crazy high-res conversations through IP.
