Another similar battery is:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013G8PTS/ref=ox_ya_oh_product

This battery is rated at 5,000mAh and costs US$59. I have been using mine for a while now and it has worked well.

Another good place to learn about different battery technologies is the Battery University. It is not really '101' level stuff tho- you need a little savvy. http://batteryuniversity.com/

Where I work, I am surrounded by different kinds and sizes of batteries (wheelchairs, scooters, phones, comm devices, tools...), and I can attest to the fact that treating L-Ions like Ni-Cads hurts them in general.

It's a pain making sure everyone treats their batteries right, but when some of the batteries run $150 each, it is worth it.

@ Andy - Yeah, I do agree with the rules on Li-Ion discharge/recharge and how it can affect overall battery health, however I've done the same thing for all my kit powered by Li-Ion batteries (Laptop, Blackberry etc) for some time and I've had no massive ill effects from doing so. I have heard of batteries being 'bricked' from carrying out a full discharge though. I guess it comes from the days of Ni-Cad's and the methods and rules surrounding them. Call it habit if you will. Thanks for the link though, appreciated.

@ Hankk - Wow, yes the Xpal Harry Power is identical! And yes, the 'curly' cord is certainly not the best idea.

NB: I bought exactly the same thing with a different name, called the "Xpal Power Harry II", for a bit less. The cable, LEDs, battery, and case are identical. And I agree -- it works very well! The cord can be a bit of a mess, though.

I would suggest you double-check your discharge-fully advice for Li-On batteries. Lithium-Ion batteries don't have a memory effect. Discharging too much can be bad. See the Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery
