das-keyboard

The Das Keyboard is German engineered with gold-plated mechanical key switches that provide tactile and audio feedback. Blue LEDs provide a slick look and the built in USB hub allows you to charge and sync your iPod or iPhone. Fast typists and gamers will be glad to hear Das Keyboard has an n-key rollover function allowing up to 12 keys to be pressed simultaneously. There is a version of the keyboard with completely blank keys, and purists can purchase a special set of keycaps for Mac and Linux.

Julie, you know I beat up a keyboard….. After going through a half dozen other “durable” keyboards, I came across this one a couple of years ago….. and am still on my original one! Can’t recommend these enough, especially for those that favor mechanical keyboards (bonus: this one’s not as loud as some!).

This is a minor point, but I used to work for the company responsible for the Das Keyboard. It is based in Austin, Texas and the owner came here from France, despite the German name. :) The keyboard have been manufactured by various companies in various countries.

They are excellent keyboards!

12 keys to be pressed simultaneously? Polydactyls, rejoice!
