It is indeed very light and roomy enough for day hikes and the price was right. The straps tend to work themselves outward and annoyingly, one will feel as if it's going to slip off of my shoulder. I'm going to cut a strap and maybe use velcro to make a chest strap to keep this from happening. I also put some tape on the zipper handles to keep them from jingling.
