Oh, it will definitely cut PVC, but it takes about 10 times longer than my my trusty old saber saw, so I'm keeping that saw. I tried it out on 1/4" 'craftwood' (alder), trying to use it like a jigsaw. It has enough power for that, but the cut is rough due to excess vibration. So I'm also keeping my old jigsaw. I just can't find a good niche for this tool. BTW, I have since bought the equivalent Craftsman tool, the Nextec (some folks just never learn). It's a little beefier.

how can noor not be able to cut 1 piece of 3/4" pvc...yet you cut 25 pieces of lumber. this seems very uneven.

there's so many mixed reviews for these tools it hard to know what to believe

I can see why they discontinued these - I tried to cut 3/4" PVC pipe with the saw and it took way too long.
The A123 battery technology delivered OK. The tools were just too light-duty.

I have this set and found that you can use Craftsman hex drill and screwdriver bits with the hand screwdriver. Very handy!
