The keychain photo frame I mentioned has an internal battery which charges via USB. You can also run it directly from USB.

Oh, it also works with Macs (I have a Mac and it's working just fine with it).

You can go to cobyusa.com and take a look at their keychain photo viewers. This particular one has several model numbers for some reason; mine is model 151SX. I'm not entirely sure what the differences among the seemingly-identical items are.

If you buy one, be sure to check Coby's site for software updates for your specific model.

Does the keychain frame run on batteries, or can you connect it to USB?

Funny, over the weekend, I bought a keychain photo viewer with a 1.5 inch screen at the local Fred Meyer store. It's made by Coby and cost me $17.99.

From the screenshots you provided, it's the same unit with a smaller screen. The interface and list of menu items are exactly the same. This unit is probably made by some Chinese factory none of us has ever heard of with different screen sizes and with different company names on the outside. I'd suggest that people shop around for the best price for the screen size they want.

Oh, my version holds 60 images, by the way, probably because the smaller screen means smaller files.

I was disappointed that it wouldn't work as a regular old flash drive. I guess they did this so that the software can optimize the images for the display size and resolution.

I was really excited about this idea. This is something I used to do with my Palm Tungsten|C using SplashPhoto. I'm hoping the iPhone SDK will bring this feature back, but this is a neat idea in the meanwhile. No Mac means no-go, however. I refuse to allow companies to be so lazy as to say, "Well, you can run Parallels and Windows and then run our program." Hooey.

How many Windows folks would stand still for, "You can dual-boot into Ubuntu, and our software runs in that." I didn't think so.

Write a Mac driver, or don't expect any of my money.
