I’m back from Mobius Boston. Yeah, I know I said I’d write about
the event while I was there, but I lied. I’ll have report early
next week though! And that aint no lie. ;o)

I arrived home to find a BIG box in my living room. The 24″ iMac
arrived. Yay! So I stayed home from work today, to set it up. Wow,
it’s HUGE. Check out how it compares to my 20″.

The display is extremely nice. But guess what? It has a defect and is going back to Apple ASAP :o( Sad but true. It makes an annoying hum when you turn the brightness level down from the max setting. I wouldn’t mind if the max setting was comfortable on my eyes, but it is so bright that I think it could melt my retinas in 10 minutes. On the bright side (sorry, couldn’t resist…), the 2 people that I spoke with via phone at Apple tech support were wonderful! That’s the way tech support should be.

In other news, here are a few items that showed up in my inbox that I think might be of interest…

-Check out a new search engine called Retrevo. It’s really good for helping you learn more about consumer electronics that you might be interested in purchasing.

-Another product research site that is worth checking out is wize.com.

-You’re going to love this illustration of a true Gadgeteer. Check out artist Jon Keegan’s site. Too cool… Thanks for the link Antonio!

-Have you ever wanted to have personalized greetings for each of your friends when they call your cell phone? I just learned about a new free service called YouMail for Verizon, Cingular and T Mobile that let’s you do just that. I’ve not tried it myself, but it sounds cool. If any of you try it, please report back to let us know what you think.

-Now for something totally unrelated to gadgets… Check out this wild new sport / game, called Bossaball. Crazy!
